Our client, a small but fast growing player in the dairy industry based in Eldoret, is looking for a Sales Officer to be based in Nairobi, with regular visits to Eldoret.
The sales officer will grow the business and ensure that sales targets are achieved.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Promoting, selling and securing orders from existing and prospective customers through a relationship-based approach.
Making telephone calls, email correspondences, in-person visits and presentations to existing and prospective customers.
Demonstrating products (cheeses, fermented milk) and services to existing/ potential customers and assisting them in selecting those best suited to their needs.
Establishing, developing and maintaining business relationships with current customers and prospective customers in the assigned territory/ market segment to generate new business.
Researching sources for developing prospective customers and for information to determine their potential.
Developing an internet penetration and social media strategy for business development.
Developing clear and effective written proposals/ quotations for current and prospective customers.
Coordinating sales efforts with management, production, accounting, logistics and technical service groups; this also includes a stringent sales budgeting process.
Oral and written reports to management on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities, and potential for new products and services.
Participating in trade shows, exhibitions and conventions.

Qualifications and Education Requirements
Minimum 3 – 5 years’ experience in sales. Experience in the food processing sector will be an added advantage.
Possession of a post-secondary degree in Marketing or Public Relations.
Demonstrated aptitude for problem-solving; ability to determine solutions for customers (consultative sales approach).
Must be results-orientated and able to work both independently and within a team environment.
Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications and other relevant software.
Valid driver’s license.
