Flower Farm Assistant Production Manager Job in Kikuyu, Kenya

Our client, a dynamic Flower Farm based in Kikuyu is looking to recruit an Assistant Production Manager.
The successful candidate MUST have minimum 6 years in the roses industry and growing and practical experience in Supervisory or management Position in flower production Activities / Horticulture
Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan all operation in relation to production and management of pest and diseases.
  • Analyse the overflows and decide on all irrigation matters.
  • Ensure proper transportation of flowers is done from greenhouse to pack house.
  • Crosscheck &confirm in satellite grading stations that flowers are harvested correctly & accordingly.
  • Supervise daily issuance of chemical & fertilizer & ensure the same is utilized appropriately.
  • Achieve required budget and production.
  • Discuss scouts reports & approval of programs & chemicals with the agronomy department.
  • Approve daily chemical and fertilizers requisition for crop protection and crop nutrition.
  • Give budget for production on annual basis.
  • Budget for chemicals and fertilizers.
  • Ensure production department conforms to audit requirements.
  • Update the sales department on sudden increase or decrease of production.
  • Ensure appropriate PPE are worn & take necessary disciplinary measures to those who don’t adhere.
Qualifications:
  • Must have a Degree in BSC or Horticulture.
  • Must have minimum of 5 years’ experience in Supervisory or management Position in flower production Activities.
  • Must have minimum 6 years in the roses industry and growing.
  • Must be Commitment, honest and hardworking.
  • IT skills preferable.
  • Ability to work out Operational Budget.
Monthly gross salary: Ksh. 80,000 – 100,000/= (Approx. 800 – 1000 USD) depending on skills and experience
