KASNEB is a professional examinations body which operates under the Accountants Act, No. 15 of 2008, the Certified Public Secretaries of Kenya Act, Cap 534 of 1988 and the Investment and Financial Analysts Act, No.13 of 2015.
The mandate of KASNEB is to develop syllabuses, conduct professional, diploma and technician examinations; certify candidates in accountancy, finance, credit, governance and management, information communication technology and related disciplines; promote its qualifications globally and accredit relevant training institutions.

In keeping with current strategic needs, KASNEB seeks to recruit a suitable candidate for the following position:
Job Level 6
Overall Purpose: The Procurement Officer will be responsible for processing requisitions from Divisions and Units in a timely and cost effective manner while ensuring compliance to laid down procurement rules and regulations.
Key duties and responsibilities
Reporting to the Manager, Supply Chain Management, the Procurement Officer will be responsible for:
(i) Preparing requisitions for quotations and inviting quotations.
(ii) Inviting tenders and proposals.
(iii) Opening of tenders, proposals and quotations.
(iv) Evaluating bids.
(v) Raising and issuing of Local Purchase Orders.
(vi) Expediting the orders until delivered.
(vii) Generating procurement reports.
(viii) Maintaining quotations, tender and proposal registers.
(ix) Maintaining up-to-date procurement documents and records.
(x) Undertaking periodic pre-qualification of suppliers.
(xi) Undertaking periodic market survey.
(xii) Undertaking periodic Board of Survey.
(xiii) Advising on obsolete/surplus items.
(xiv) Undertaking disposal of surplus, obsolete or unserviceable stores and assets.
(xv) Ensuring risk management within the area of operation.
(xvi) Ensuring the implementation of the Quality Management System.
(xvii) Performing any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Academic / Professional Qualifications and Experience
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
(i) Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement and Supplies Management, Business Administration or any other relevant discipline from a recognised university.
(ii) Professional qualification or Higher Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Procurement and Supplies Management or relevant discipline from a recognised certifying body.
(iii) Knowledge of Government IFMIS system is an added advantage.
(iv) Member in good standing of the Kenya Institute of Supplies Management.
(v) A minimum of four (4) years relevant experience in a middle management position in procurement management in a large organisation and two (2) years relevant experience in Procurement or Supplies for serving officers.

(ii) Have demonstrated leadership qualities and management capability for responsibilities at this level.
(iii) Be a team player.
(iv) Demonstrate ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with varied stakeholders.
(v) Have thorough knowledge of the Public Procurement and Disposal Laws and Regulations.
(ix) Satisfy the provisions of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010.
