Kindergarten Headmistress and Playgroup Teacher Vacancies in Kenya
Our client a kindergarten located around Roysambu area (Thika Road) is looking to fill the following positions.
Reporting to the School Director, the Headmistress will be responsible for all management and administrative issues of the Kindergarten.
The key responsibilities;
Overall coordination of the activities of the kindergarten ensuring all the programs are running smoothly, efficiently and effectively on daily basis
Evaluation and approval of teaching approaches, methodologies and plans
Ensure that the learning facilities are clean, hygienic and safe for learning
Ensure the children are provided with adequate support for growth and development through guidance, counseling and relevant training
Maintain academic and other school records
Maintain high level of discipline in the school for both teachers and students
Manage and effective communication system between the students, parents and other visitors to the school
Oversee all other administrative issues in the school
Holder of Diploma in Early childhood Education or a bachelor’s degree in early childhood
Minimum 5 years relevant working experience in a kindergarten
Mature and committed and can work with minimum supervision
Registered with Teachers Service Commission (TSC)
Demonstrate supervisory skills in previous positions
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated administration, leadership and management skills
Good coaching and mentoring skills for new teachers
Looking for a jovial and fun teacher for the playgroup class with a strong dedication to child development education needs.
Planning activities that meet the social, physical and emotional needs of the children
Develop scheme of work and lesson plans in line with the school curriculum
Schedule stimulating and learning activities for the children
Prepare teaching aids to facilitate children learning
Devises games and activities, and also provides playing equipment, and ensure the playing facilities and equipment are clean and safe
Supervise the children as they learn and play
Discusses the children’s progress with their parents and keeps them informed
Qualifications & Experience
A diploma or Certificate in Early Childhood Education from a recognized college
At least 2 years working experience in a playgroup setting
Demonstrate creative ideas and games in working with small children
Proven ability to prepare creative teaching aids
Ability to establish and enforce rules for behavior and class control
Good command of English both written and spoken
Good organization and communication skill
Demonstrated ability to work as a team player
Must demonstrated passion for teaching and children
