Restaurant Manager Job in Westlands, Nairobi, Kenya

Our client, a well-established restaurant and lounge based in Westlands Nairobi is seeking to recruit a Restaurant Manager to join their team.
Reports To: Director
Job Purpose
  • Responsible for managing the daily operations of the Restaurant.
  • Delivers revenue and profits by marketing, financing and providing appealing restaurant services and managing staff.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Attracts patrons by developing and marketing advertising, public and community development programs
  • General oversee and manage all areas of the restaurant and make final decisions and matters of importance.
  • Adhere to company standards and service levels to increase sales and minimize costs, including food, beverage, supply, utility and labor costs.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all financial and personnel / payroll related administrative duties are completed accurately on tome and in accordance with company policies and procedures
  • Estimate food and beverages costs. Work with corporate office staff for efficient provisioning and purchasing of supplies.
  • Estimate food needs, places orders with distributors and schedule the delivery of fresh food and supplies.
  • Ensure positive guest service in all areas. Respond to complaints, taking any and all appropriate actions to turn dissatisfied guest into return guests.
  • Ensure all security procedures in place to protect employees, guests and company assets.
  • Ensure safe working and guest environment to reduce the risk of injury and accidents.
  • Investigate and resolve complaints concerning food quality and service.
  • Provide direction to employees regarding operational and procedural issues. Direct hiring, supervision, development and when necessary, termination of employees.
  • Develop employees by providing feedback, establishing performance expectations and by conducting performance reviews.
  • Provide strong presence in local community and high level of community involvement by restaurant and personnel.
Skills and Specification
  • Possess leadership abilities
  • Have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Pleasant, polite manner and a neat and clean appearance.
  • Have the ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to multitask
Educational Qualification
  • A college degree is preferred. Bachelor of Science in hotel / restaurant management is desirable.
  • Practical experience of 5 years in similar role.
