Save the Children Temporary Regional Human Resource Assistant Vacancy in Nairobi, Kenya
Save the Children Eastern and Southern Africa Regional Office is looking to recruit for the following positions:
Job Title: Regional Human Resource Assistant – Temporary
Team / Programme: Regional HR Team
Location: Eastern and Southern Africa Regional Office – Nairobi
Length of Contract: 3 Months
Child Safeguarding: Level 3 – the responsibilities of the post may require the post holder to have regular contact with or access to children or young people
Role Purpose: The Regional HR team is a part of Save the Children’s Eastern and Southern Africa Regional Office. The HR Assistant will provide administrative support to the to the Regional HR team across the full range of HR processes within the candidate and employee lifecycle.

Key Areas of Accountability:
Assist the HR team in ensuring that filing functions of the HR department are done in an accurate and timely manner.
Filing of all general HR related correspondence
Work with the HR officer to ensure all personnel files are up to date.
Filing of recruitment documents and ensuring recruitment files are complete
Assist in the recruitment function of the Human Resources department.
Sorting of job applications (hard and soft copies)
Contacting shortlisted candidates and preparing interview schedules
Participate in interviews with the RHRO or RHRM
Supporting in reference checks
Assist in orientation and induction by scheduling and printing materials
Support with deployments and Regional Roster
Supporting with vetting of staff for the Regional Roster and deployments
Support with updating the deployment tracker
Admin & Logistics support to trainings and HR workshops
Printing of training materials for SMDP and other HR trainings and workshops
Supporting the Regional Specialised Events Coordinator with the travel and accommodation logistics of HR trainings and workshops
Offer any other support needed for SMDP and other HR trainings and workshops
Facilitation of HR Invoices
Preparation of Request for payments for various invoices
Following up with finance to ensure the invoices are settled
Respond to HR queries in the absence of the Regional HR Manager & Regional HR Officer
Perform any other related tasks as may be assigned

Qualifications and Experience
Diploma or Higher Diploma in HR or Business administration or equivalent
Previous experience of working in a HR administrative role, including the administration of recruitment and onboarding processes is required.
Excellent computer skills especially in MS Excel spreadsheets and MS Word
High level of integrity/confidentiality and ability to work as part of a professional team
Excellent communication skills
Proven ability to handle challenging workload
Cross-cultural experience, understanding and sensitivity
Excellent interpersonal and written and oral communication skills
