About Action Africa Help International: Action Africa Help International (AAH-I) is an African-led, regional organisation, working in Kenya, Somalia, South Sudan, Uganda, and Zambia with Board approval to expand to Ethiopia, Rwanda, Tanzania and Burundi.
It brings over 25 years’ experience working with communities in conflict and post-conflict situations, including refugees, internally displaced people, host communities and communities in urban slums.
The Accounts Assistant will perform specified tasks to deliver an efficient cost effective and quality service in support of the finance function. Documents financial transactions by entering accounting information and reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analysing account information.
Qualifications
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA or ACCA PART 2
  • At least 1 year experience in a similar position
Skills and Competencies
  • Knowledge of basic MS Office (email, spread-sheets, word, databases, job-related software, etc.) is required.
Language and Communication skills
  • Proficiency in English (written and spoken).
  • Capacity to communicate clearly, present complex matters in a logical and concise manner.
Personal qualities / skills
  • Ability to respect deadlines, to multitask and to deal with heavy workloads.
  • Strong sense of initiative, responsibility and accountability.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to respond quickly to new demands arising from the needs of the Delegation.
  • Commitment to assure quality, speed and accuracy in performing duties;
  • Ability to work both independently as well as in a team
  • Ability to work in a multicultural environment.
Intellectual skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Capacity to focus on priorities and to organize own workload (in order to respect deadlines).
