DPI is a startup and a newcomer to the printing space in East Africa and seeks to be the leader in this space within a short time.
Job Description: DPI is looking for an experienced HR manager who is familiar with the laws and regulations of Kenya and is comfortable in a startup environment.
He/She will need to build the department from the ground up and build the procedures and protocols of the department.
The HR Manager will play an important and exciting role in supporting, growing and shaping all resources into a highly effective and mission-focused workforce.
Duties and Responsibilities
Develop and implement company HR policies, ensuring compliance with the Kenyan labour law and other legal frame works.
Responsible for full functions of HR i.e. Recruitment, training & development, payroll, staff compensation, employee relations, industrial relation among others.
Contribute to the development of staff performance appraisal systems with the support of senior management
Development of a training curriculum for all staff and an induction programme for all new hires.
Ensuring all employees are regularly upgrading their skill set
Maintenance and updating of all employee records and contracts (both local and international).
Process payroll, incorporating statutory payments and staff benefits, and maintain all employee files
Understand the unique operating environment of the company and provide counsel to the Executive Team on developing policies and procedures regarding employment issues within that context, including accreditation and licensing regulations.
Keep on the lookout for new and interesting ways of improving the company in all aspects.
Promoting equality and diversity as part of the culture of the organization
Dealing with all contracts, both local and international.
Any other duties that may be assigned by management.
Minimum Skills and Requirements
At least 3 years of experience working as a HR manager
Experienced in the implementation and management of HR software systems
A Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, personnel Administration or a related field.
Previous experience working with a start up in an equivalent capacity.
Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.
