FMCG Multinational Head of Procurement Vacancy in Kenya

Job Title: Head of Procurement
Role Introduction: Our client, a leading multinational within FMCG, seeks to engage and hire a Head of Procurement professional responsible for providing sourcing expertise at the local level and procurement support in an effective manner, while managing the relationship between business partnering, sourcing and procurement.
The professional will also be the single point of accountability and contact person for procurement in the business/market.
Role Profile
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
  • Understanding business strategies and priorities in relation to procurement category strategies;
  • Understanding and integrating innovation plans for the market and their interface with Research at local level;
  • Understanding and interpreting category and sourcing plans in relation to the market at relevant stages throughout the category process;
  • Ensuring timely provision of procurement provided financial planning data across all categories;
  • Representing the organisation externally in market at any trade, legal or supply market associations while offering support to category managers at senior interactions with local suppliers;
  • Ensuring accurate flow of information between local operations (trade, tariff and legal requirements and regulations, for the countries) relevant to all category teams;
  • Monitoring and managing the delivery of value to the leadership team;
  • Managing sourcing and procurement support teams;
  • Leading and managing talent while ensuring continuous improvement and promoting compliance;
  • Integrating Innovation and ensuring adherence to agreed SLAs with internal stakeholders;
  • Responsible and accountable for best practice Sourcing and Vendor Approval Processes.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university;
  • Minimum Eight (8) years’ demonstrable experience in delivering competitive advantage to the business through development and implementation of sourcing strategies;
  • Knowledge of procurement best practices and source to pay process;
  • Good financial understanding, strong business insight and an understanding of cost drivers;
  • Demonstrable successful use of risk management and supplier relation management;
  • Ability to successfully lead projects.
