Health and Safety Manager Career Opportunity in Kenya
Position: Health and Safety Manager
Nature of job: Full time
Summary: To provide a professional, comprehensive Health & Safety service to mhs homes. The role will have overall responsibility for all Health & Safety and Facilities matters concerning the mhs homes group.
Duties and Responsibilities
Provide strategic support to staff and the company as a whole
Drive to deliver continual safety, health and environmental improvements across the company
Manage, develop and maintain all H&S documents, processes and procedures including the H&S Strategy, Policy, Management System and all related documents
Manage, develop and maintain H&S performance standards including regular reporting
Provide Health & Safety support to management.
Agree written Risk Assessments, including updates as required.
Identify areas for improvement and implement any necessary training or process changes
Communicate company’s objectives, results and successes to internal and external parties
Ensure a robust audit programme is in place to maintain H&S compliance and drive continuous improvement
Liaise closely with Government Regulators and other relevant external partners
Participate in accident and incident investigation and emergency response teams
Maintain and manage a database of accidents and incidents records; including on-going trend analysis of data to identify potential areas for learning and recommend actions to relevant teams.
Provide health and safety update reports, incident statistics and supporting information as required.
Ensure compliance with all relevant Health and Safety legislation and good practice across the organisation.
Maintain overall responsibility for the work of the Facilities Team including line management.
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
Professional certification as a H&S practitioner
8+ years’ experience in the same capacity or higher
