Plumber Technician Job in Kenya
Reports to: Engineering Manager
Tusker Mattresses Limited (Tuskys) is looking to engage a plumbing technician. The candidate is mainly expected to do installation, repair and maintenance of plumbing systems in the organization.
To determine how a plumbing system needs to be installed and what type of drainage systems the building in question needs.
Be able to read and understand building blueprints to gauge layouts of plumbing systems and water supply networks.
Design and install core plumbing and drainage systems in accordance to agreed specifications.
Study blueprints to determine the type of materials needed to install plumbing systems.
Test plumbing system performance through observations and make notes on changes or modifications needed.
Identify required tools and materials to install plumbing systems.
Locate and mark positions for installing connectors and fixtures.
Install connectors and fixtures on their marked places using appropriate tools and materials.
Assemble and install fittings and valves and recheck to make sure that have been installed properly.
Test plumbing systems through teething period to ensure that they are in proper working order.
Install sinks, tubs, water closets and water heaters.
Perform preventative maintenance on fixtures, fittings and base pipes.
Test pipe systems for leaks and repair leaks and faults.
Must have a technical and trade background
At least three years’ experience.
Understanding of the current regulations within the field.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills on a technical level.
Able to work both independently and as part of a team.
