Location: Westlands
Job Summary: We are looking for two professional cooks to prepare food to the exact chef’s specifications and set up stations for menu.
Their duties will consist of assisting the executive and sous chef with their daily tasks.
The successful candidate will play a key role in contributing to our customer satisfaction and acquisition goals.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Check freshness of food and ingredients
  • Supervise and coordinate food preparation activities
  • Develop recipes and determine how to present the food
  • Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
  • Plan menus and ensure uniform serving sizes and quality of meals
  • Inspect supplies, equipment, and work areas for cleanliness and functionality
  • Order and maintain inventory of food and supplies
  • Monitor sanitation practices and follow kitchen safety standards at all times
  • Prepare food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces)
  • Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
  • Stock inventory appropriately
  • Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion
  • Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
Education and Experience:
  • Proven experience, in a 5 star restaurant is a MUST
  • Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
  • Familiar with industry’s best practices
  • Culinary diploma from a recognized and reputable institution
  • A valid fit to work certificate is a Must
  • A valid food handler’s certificate is a must
Skills and Requirements:
  • Must be physically fit.
  • Must be organized, reliable and punctual
  • Excellent customer-Service skills.
  • Ability to handle pressure and work long hours
  • Attention to Detail
  • Ability to memorize and remember things
  • Good managerial and organizational skills
  • Problem-Solving Skills
